How to Have a Party By Yourself: 5 Creative Ways to Beat Self-Isolation

a few colorful balls

The recent pandemic of the CoronaVirus has put a halt to social activities. In order to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our communities during this testing time, we have been encouraged to participate in social distancing and self-isolation. Introverts, rejoice! Extroverts, hang in there…you can still have some fun in the house.

Grab your preferred alcoholic beverage(s) and see how you can have a great time all by yourself:

Cook Yourself a Delicious Brunch

Ah, brunch. Missing this popular meal on the weekends has been tough for us during this period of self-isolation. You shouldn’t have to skip a good time during a meal though; try brunching at home! Whether it’s french toast, homemade omelets or bacon, cook up your favorite foods for breakfast. Turn off the news, turn up some tunes and enjoy your morning in your kitchen. Also, be sure to stock up on champagne and orange juice at a liquor store to keep the bottomless mimosas flowing!

Soak in a Hot Tub

You know what would make self-isolation a lot more fun? Having a hot tub of your dreams to soak in at your leisure! If you’re the cool owner of a hot tub, it’s a great idea to spend a little time letting the bubbles and hot water keep you company. Throw in a couple of bottles of wine and snacks, and you’re all set for a good time in your backyard!

When it’s safe to invite your friends over, it’d be a good idea to throw a hot tub party to celebrate surviving the self-isolation! Check out this list of hot tub party tips for when that time finally comes, but until then we’ll give you the basics: a run to good spirits stores, extra towels and extra swimsuits, and special water features to make the perfect hot tub even more exciting.

Sing Karaoke

You may as well sing like nobody’s watching! Select songs from your favorite artists and let loose by letting out a couple of notes. To make your vocals seem even more Grammy-nominated, stop at a liquor store to pick up some fine wine or Bourbon (whatever will get you that extra jazz). Drunk karaoke is a fun way to pass some time, and you may even surprise yourself with your talents. If you want to put on a performance, video chat with a few friends to put on a good show for them.

Drinking Games + Board Games

Board games may be a little lonely to play when you’re all buying yourself, but games always become a lot more interesting when you decide to drink along with it! Pull out your old favorite games and pop open some drinks you picked up from convenience stores. Settle in for a fun new twist!

Treat Yourself to A Relaxing Spa Day

If you’re feeling stressed during this self-isolation, that’s no surprise. Don’t let it get to you though! With warm water, household essentials and a few candles to give you a spa aroma, you can turn your living situation into a relaxing getaway. Ignore the news and any outside distractions, pour yourself a glass from your favorite wine bottle and pamper yourself during your stay at home. There are a few DIY spa treatments you can make at home here.

Self-isolation doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time! Enjoy this break and take care of yourself before you re-emerge into the world.
